He married Arta Anna Morris on 18 June 1834, in Scott, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 5 daughters. He lived in Floyd, Kentucky, United States in 1850 and Greenup, Kentucky, United States in 1860. He died on 21 May 1879, in Jackson, Jackson, Ohio, United States, at the age of 68, and was buried in Marshfield, Waterloo Township, Athens, Ohio, United States.

about 1812 · Monumental Church Built

The Monumental Church was built between 1812-1814 on the sight where the Richmond Theatre fire had taken place. It is a monument to those that died in the fire.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
