When Hans Georg Kocherhans was born on 6 December 1786, in Wängi, Thurgau, Switzerland, his father, Salomon Kocherhans, was 51 and his mother, Anna Schueepp, was 25. He married Anna Barbara Bischoff on 9 May 1811, in Wängi, Thurgau, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 3 daughters. He died on 21 March 1839, in his hometown, at the age of 52.
