When Georg Rüesch was born on 21 June 1701, in Sankt Margrethen, Sankt Gallen, Switzerland, his father, Jacob Rüesch, was 40 and his mother, Magdalena Kästli, was 37. He married Catharina Künzler on 7 November 1730, in Sankt Margrethen, Sankt Gallen, Switzerland. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 10 daughters. He died on 11 January 1782, in his hometown, at the age of 80, and was buried in Sankt Margrethen, Sankt Gallen, Switzerland.
