Gotlieb Hinegardner was born in 1803, in Rockingham, Virginia, United States as the son of Christian Hinegardner Sr. and Elizabeth Summers. He married Nancy Margaret Armstrong on 31 October 1831, in Pendleton, West Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 4 daughters. He lived in Pendleton, Virginia, United States in 1840 and Monterey, Highland, Virginia, United States for about 10 years. He died on 31 May 1895, in Highland, Virginia, United States, at the age of 92, and was buried in Highland, Virginia, United States.

1812 · Monumental Church Built

The Monumental Church was built between 1812-1814 on the sight where the Richmond Theatre fire had taken place. It is a monument to those that died in the fire.

1830 · The Second Great Awakening

Being a second spiritual and religious awakening, like the First Great Awakening, many Churches began to spring up from other denominations. Many people began to rapidly join the Baptist and Methodist congregations. Many converts to these religions believed that the Awakening was the precursor of a new millennial age.
