When Rachel Ham was born on 9 August 1749, in Rhinebeck, Dutchess, New York Colony, British Colonial America, her father, Frederick Hamm, was 30 and her mother, Anna Catharina Streit, was 24. She married Elisha Powell on 21 July 1766, in New York Colony, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 5 daughters. She died on 27 August 1825, at the age of 76, and was buried in Powell Cemetery, Greene, New York, United States.
