She married James Hamlet Jr on 11 November 1772, in Charlotte, Virginia, British Colonial America. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 5 daughters. She died on 12 June 1812, in Charlotte Court House, Charlotte, Virginia, United States, at the age of 61.

Mount Vernon Plantation was the home of George Washington. It started off as 2,000 acres and was later expanded to 8,000 acres. The house itself started off as a six room building then got extended to twenty-one rooms.

Name Meaning
English: habitational name from the county seat of Bedfordshire, or a smaller place of the same name in Lancashire, or from Bedforth in Thornhill, Yorkshire. Both of the former are named with the Old English personal name Bēda + Old English ford ‘ford’. The name is now very common in Yorkshire as well as Bedfordshire.
