When Fa'atu'iese Sauni was born about 1927, in Saaga, Samoa, her father, Naniseni Sauni, was 29 and her mother, Lea Talalegogo Lafoga, was 33. She married Leato Tutagalevao in 1944, in Si'umu, Samoa. They were the parents of at least 1 daughter. She died on 18 May 1995, in her hometown, at the age of 69, and was buried in Saaga, Samoa.
