When John Hill Jr was born on 9 March 1750, in Albemarle Parish, Surry, Virginia, British Colonial America, his father, John Hill Sr, was 33 and his mother, Mildred Gilliam, was 32. He married Jane Morgan on 9 December 1782, in Craven, North Carolina, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons and 3 daughters. He died in 1791, at the age of 41.
