Gjertrud Erichsdatter was christened on 31 January 1706, in Særslev, Skovby, Odense, Denmark as the daughter of Erich Jespersen and Karen Hansdatter. She married Hans Hansen on 16 December 1731, in Særslev, Skovby, Odense, Denmark. They were the parents of at least 5 sons and 1 daughter. She died on 27 April 1772, in her hometown, at the age of 66.

1713 · Royal Danish Military Academy

The Royal Danish Military Academy educated and commissioned all officers for the Royal Danish Army. The Military Academy function was initiated in 1713 by request of King Frederick IV on inspiration from the Naval Academy.

The Danish Asiatic Company was a trading company established to revive the dwindling Danish trade with the East Indies and China. It was taken over by the Danish government in 1772 and continued to run until around 1843.

from gēr, gār ‘spear’ + þrūþ ‘strength’; the name of two famous 13th-century nuns of the Cistercian Abbey of Helfta near Eisleben, whose spiritual writings had a great influence.
