When Barbara Rupp was born on 16 June 1775, in Signau, Bern, Switzerland, her father, Peter Rupp, was 32 and her mother, Magdalena Luethi, was 35. She married Jacob Küng on 24 August 1798. They were the parents of at least 3 sons and 6 daughters. She died on 8 August 1847, in her hometown, at the age of 72, and was buried in Signau, Bern, Switzerland.
